The 7th days of Animal STudies (7th Dani Kulturne AnimaliSTike) organized by the Centre for Integrative Bioethics of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Split held from October 22 to 25 2025, offered a vibrant platform for discussing human animal relations, not lastly from ethical and cultural perspectives. Wolfgang also was lucky enough to present his MA thesis at the conference with a presentation titled “Approaching animals, spiritual experiences and normative humanism”.
On a more cultural aspect the interview / panel discussion with Robert Perišić was captivating to say the least. The session revolved around his 2022 book “A Cat at the End of the World”, his colloquial and general remarks on the nature of language (explored further in the book too) left Wolfgang with yet another item on his yet-to-be-read-list.

On equally important notes, also the acquaintance of the “Faculty of Philosophy cat” (depicted above – the name is yet under investigation) was made, and it was learned, that the ST in the conference title is a little local patriotic wink to the car license plate number of all Split cars – being ST. Needless to say, that the township of Split is a fascinating destination in its own right. Oh and yes… the cat dragged on copies of all previous conference publications too, just to close on a bibliophile note.
