The recently acquired property in the Danube Bend, along with a house that can be transformed into a cat-safe haven, proved to be a great pick from the very first moment. Of course, it’s not just the location that makes Cat Land 2.0 a future base for FeLV-positive cats, but also the many additional possibilities it holds.

The place itself is truly fantastic: secluded corner of the Danube Bend, far from the noise of the city, surrounded by ancient trees and rich vegetation. All of this is complemented by a caring, attentive approach that extends to every sentient being, an essential foundation for creating a space where cats, though isolated due to their illness, can still live freely. Cat Land 2.0 is designed to provide both freedom and safety for them and their environment at the same time.

As part of the latest development, a small but enthusiastic team has created a cat-proof terrace. Here, our soft-pawed residents can comfortably keep an eye on the property. With multiple levels suitable for “patrolling” and elevated resting, reinforced, intrusion-proof yet visually unobtrusive fencing, and a dedicated entrance door, their new environment has become truly cozy.

For now, two FeLV-positive cats have moved in to “test” the new surroundings and, with their feedback, help us improve the space for more leukemia-positive cats in need of a home.

In the coming months, we will begin preparing for winter and build an additional outdoor enclosure around the house to give them an even greater sense of freedom.

(And the number of residents might grow as well…?)

Stay tuned, we’ll share updates every now and then.
